When I first joined INTI in 2008, I joined the Editorial Board hoping to bring a new brand of journalism to this university. I rose through the ranks at the club and was soon editor of one of INTI’s oldest clubs. Before the days of INTI Vybes, IMPAC or even Adventure Club, Editorial Board (under the stewardship of the English Language Society) was writing stories for the INTI population.

I went on to other ventures after my tenure as Editor but my love of journalism never eroded. The long life of Editorial Board recently came to an end, the club slowly faded away into the depths of history when the newly elected 15th INTIMA announced that the club was officially declared inactive. In other words, the club I had grown to love is now dead.

Upon returning from my internship, I started a student based newspaper focused on online material to cater to the students. With help from a small but helpful interim committee, we created the Fourth Estate.
Now the fourth estate is a literary term for the press, a societal or political force. That is what this paper promises to deliver. We will strive to provide students of INTI all the information you need on what’s happening in and around INTI.

We are always on the lookout for more writers and if you would like to contribute, we’d love to have you.

One Response so far.

I salute your vision and determination to come up with this new journalism concept even though I'm not surprise considering your activities in various clubs you belong to. I said Big Kudos and more power to your elbow.

May I use this medium to highlight on what I just observed as injustice to INTIANS or generally put ASIANs in one of the INTI Postgraduate program recently. I completed my Degree program recently here in INTI and was considering enrolling into MBT, then I decided to seek for some info from my friends who are currently doing the program but my findings amazed and pained me.

    It goes thus:

Even though there are widespread news that with a very good degree result, INTIANS can get up to 50 - 100% scholarship for INTI's Masters especially MBT, I found out that among the first set of MBT program, a guy from Indonesia (INTI Alumni with 1st Class Degree) was lucky to get 100% while two from from USA also got it (Not INTI Alumni)

I was surprised to find out that of all INTI Alumni that enrolled in the second set (some of them graduated with First Class in INTI), non of them got it, instead INTI gave them 70% scholarship while a student from USA (non INTI Alumni also, and not sure of his degree result either 2:1 or 1st class but still can find out) was given 100%...Whao INTI is nice!

As I planned to join before, this injustice I found disturbed my mind and decided to inform other INTI students.

    My questions:
    1. what condition does INTI used to give the Masters scholarship (CGI Scholarship),
    2. why can a foreigner/non INTIAN get 100% and INTI Alumni cannot, when the Alumni even has 1st Class in degree.
    3. Is it because the scholarship name is Clinton-Railey Global Initiative (CGI) or because American has taken over INTI and Laureate prefer American student over us?

Hope your team (The * Asterisk) can found out and update us here.

    Thanks
